Washing & Conductivity The conductive silver fibres are woven throughout the fabric. Washing with harsh detergents, bleach, or fabric softeners can degrade silver over time and reduce conductivity - which is why we recommend a mild, chemical-free detergent and air drying only. Using your included tester pen after washing is the most reliable way to confirm your sheet is still grounding correctly. Odour A mild metallic or fabric odour is normal when the sheet is new and typically clears after the first 1–2 washes. If an odour persists with regular use, check that the sheet is fully air-dried before storage, as dampness can cause odour to develop. Avoid tumble drying or storing in an enclosed bag while still damp. Signs of Wear Over time you may notice slight discolouration of the silver threads - this is normal and does not necessarily mean the sheet has stopped grounding. The most reliable indicator is your tester pen: if it no longer shows a grounding reading after following care instructions, the conductivity of that area may have diminished. Visible fraying, holes, or broken thread clusters around connection points are physical signs worth monitoring. Replacement There is no fixed lifespan - how long a grounding sheet remains conductive depends on wash frequency, detergent choice, and how it is stored and used. We recommend testing conductivity periodically with the included tester pen. If the sheet consistently fails to show a grounding reading despite correct care and connection, it is a good indicator that replacement should be considered.
