How to Care for Your Silk Products

How to Care for Your Silk Products

Protect Your Investment with Proper Silk Care

Silk is one of nature's most resilient yet delicate fibres. With the right care, your silk pillowcases, eye masks, and sleep accessories will stay luxuriously soft and last for years. Here's everything you need to know to keep your silk looking and feeling its best.

Washing Your Silk

Always check the care label first. Most silk can be hand washed in cool water with a gentle, pH-neutral detergent. If machine washing, use a mesh laundry bag and select the delicate cycle with cold water. Avoid hot water - it can shrink silk fibres and cause irreversible damage.

Tip: Never use bleach, enzyme-based detergents, or fabric softeners on silk. These break down the natural protein structure of the fibre over time.

Drying Silk Correctly

Never wring or twist silk - gently press out excess water by rolling it in a clean towel. Lay flat or hang to air dry in the shade. Direct sunlight can fade silk's natural lustre and weaken the fibres. Keep your Organic Silk Pillowcase and Silk Eye Mask out of the dryer entirely.

Ironing and Storing Silk

If ironing is needed, use the lowest heat setting and iron on the reverse side while the silk is slightly damp. Store silk items folded in a cool, dry place - ideally wrapped in breathable cotton or tissue paper to protect from dust and moisture.

How Often Should You Wash Silk Bedding?

We recommend washing silk pillowcases every 1-2 weeks, similar to regular bedding. Eye masks can be washed weekly or as needed. Regular washing removes oils and product buildup that can dull the fabric over time.

Which Silk Products Need the Most Care?

Our most loved pieces - like the Organic Silk Sleep Bundle, the Silk Pillowcase Duo + Eye Mask Bundle, and the Couples Sleep Set - are all crafted from 100% Mulberry silk and will reward proper care with lasting softness and performance.

When to Replace Your Silk

Well-cared-for silk can last 2-5 years with regular use. Signs it's time to refresh include pilling, loss of sheen, or thinning fabric. When that time comes, explore our full silk sleep range for your next upgrade.

Treat your silk well and it will treat your skin and hair even better.
